Each will share with you how they create and craft.
At the end of each session you'll walk away with your very own unique you-crafted object.
The skills you learn at each workshop give you a great launching pad to a world of craftyness.

Introductory class to FELTING
Create a custom designed finished felted bag with Amy of The Loop Knittery
Make a knitted and felted small bag (coin purse, zip wallet, makeup bag, ipod sleeve).
This is a fun and simple introduction to felting with knitted goods and designing your own things.
We will cover basic knitting technique, gauge, design, and sewing up your finished product.
If time permits we will talk about further embellishments and get ideas for decorating your piece.
Basic knitting skills preferred, but not necessary.
At the end of the workshop you will walk away the proud owner of
your new custom designed (by you!) small bag
plus a pair of Clover brand bamboo straight needles - only the best quality.
The goal is for each participant to finish the knitting in the first hour in order to proceed with the felting of the project.

Time: 10.30am till 12.30pm
Skills required: none
Age: this project is great for people of all ages but has a recommended minimum age of 7 years.

Introductory class to Beaded Jewellery Making
Create a A necklace and earring Jewellery Set with Helena of beadnz.com
A really fun workshop to have a go at making some beautiful beaded jewellery!
No previous jewellery making experience needed. Just a love of jewellery.
Making your own jewellery is one of the most fun things you can do.
You get to create your very own original necklace 100% designed with you in mind, because you are the designer.
All materials provided: This includes tools, clasps and stringing materials and over 150 different beads to choose from for your design.
The beadnz selection of beads is truly stunning, so your main problem will be which beads to use.
After this workshop you'll have the skills to make earrings and necklaces any time you like

Introductory class to Asian style book craft
Create a Oriental-style soft cover book with Jan of Wyrcan
This 2 hour workshop will guide you to create a unique one of a kind Oriental-style soft cover book .
your book will be created from decorative paper and fabric all supplied by Jan.
This is a great little book for phone numbers and other random notes and tells an interesting story about the place it came from.
You will also learn how to use thread to stitch the pages together.
The thread binding effect is really stunning and using string binding instead of glue is easier on the environment, too.
You will be guaranteed to finish at least one book.
For some students, you may be able to make an additional style of booklet.

Time: 1.00pm till 3.00pm
